Hometown: Kansas City Awards received: Best soccer memory: Coming back from 0-2 in the second half to beat Azusa Pacific in order to make the final four at Nationals in beautiful Santa Barbara, California. It felt like winning the national championship. By far my greatest soccer moment, I still get the chills thinking about it. Overall soccer goals: To be a coach that teaches players to love the game of soccer and have confidence in themselves as players Coaching philosophy: I strongly disagree with coaching that involves constantly yelling negatively at the players. There are times when players need to be motivated to play at a higher level but I feel it can be done in a positive way. I teach players foot skills and also how to be a team player and understand the game of soccer. I truly believe that my players should love to play the game and enjoy themselves while doing it. Club team: Kansas City Pace Hobbies: Playing soccer and golf. Going to new places and seeing new things. Spending time with friends and relatives. Awards received: Best soccer memory: Dog piling in front of Baker fans after an overtime victory at their place. Overall soccer goals: Accomplished many of them growing up. Main focus now is to successfully develop youth soccer players to become better teammates and better participants in society, while equipping them with the skills to take their game to the highest level. Coaching philosophy: Pesonally: To allow kids the opportunity to enjoy soccer through teamwork, commitment, and passion for soccer. I believe the more competitive soccer is, the more rewarding and memorable it is for the player. Tactically: Whatever your personnel allows to be most successful. I believe owning midfield play is the key to being competitive, while having a balanced defense and attack is also essential. I enjoy playing and coaching a possessed, attacking style of soccer, but capable of grinding out victories through hard work and determination. The game went into a shootout where I saved the first shot and also scored my one and only collegiate goal. Overall Soccer Goals: I feel that I have accomplished many of my soccer goals growing up and being fortunate enough to play the game at a high level. Now, my goal is to pass on my knowledge of the game so that others may have the same opportunities. Coaching Philosophy: I want to give my players the skills they need to succeed on the field and off. I believe in hard work and pushing yourself to be the best you can be. At the same time, it can’t be all work all the time, you’ve got to have a little fun and enjoy playing the game…”work hard, play hard!” _________________________________________________________________________ |

Ryan Ebberts
Hometown: Lee’s Summit, MO Awards received: Best soccer memory: Scoring a goal off a punt in a high school game against Blue Springs Overall soccer goals: Have my soccer athletes excel in the beautiful game. Helping them achieve their goals whether its to play varsity soccer or play in college. Having these athletes achieve their goals is my only goal. Coaching philosophy: Let the ball do the work. Trust your teammates in their ability to receive and distribute the ball. Players who move without the ball are more likely to end up with the ball at their feet. The smart team has the players that coaches at the next level are looking for. Take one player on your good, take 2 on and still have the ball your great, take three on and your stupid. Simple play makes you look like the all star it’s the players that try to do to much that make the game look hard. The KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle is how I try to approach practice and games. At the high school level players need to be fine tuning their skills at the positions that suite them, forwards ball striking and making runs, mids ball position and distributing, defense, pressure cover and the physical toughness that makes opposing teams squeal.
